Farmskills Training & Development, a non-profit organization (NPO) dedicated to advancing forestry and agricultural training in Namibia, has to date trained over 500 Namibian farmers. The organization was established in 2017 by a group of young people focused on equipping farmers with practical agricultural knowledge. This has been achieved through organising farmers’ events, conducting farm visits, and offering on-farm training , especially for farmers living in remote villages who are often excluded from training programs held only in towns. In many cases, these farmers urgently need such training to improve and advance their farming practices.
The organization aims to train over 1,000 farmers in the coming years in agriculture, forestry, wildland fire management, and other essential courses that will help increase efficiency, create jobs, and boost productivity in Namibia.
